Starting out any new endeavor can be daunting, whether its moving to a new state, beginning a new job, or writing your first blog post. Yet here we are, blogging our adventurers { including some of the above }. But why do we want to share our adventure? Because, when you are given the gift of life that is beautiful, you can't help but want to share. We wanted a place to tell the stories we live, and showcase the things we create.
I { Will } started writing while in my teens. There are the stereotypical, moody angst poems buried in a folder somewhere for sure, but writing was more than that for me. It was a way of describing the world around me, communicating emotions, declaring who I was, a way of letting others see the thoughts that were in my mind. Eventually my writing turned to storytelling. I wanted to be able to stir emotions and take others on journeys with my words. I still write poems and stories when I can, but I have realized I am living a great story, why not write about it as well.
I { Maria } grew up with a different way of seeing the world. I would always the be the one left behind on walks and hikes because I had found a crack in a log and I wanted to take a picture, or I saw a beautiful butterfly sitting on a daisy and wanted to watch it, till it flew away. I guess I just saw things that no one else would even notice. Before Will and I started dating, we went on a hike together, and after the hike he told me that he watched me and found it fascinating how I saw things. I was really creeped out that he was watching me the whole hike { but we are married now, so I guess I wasn't too creeped out }, that's when I first realized how different I was from other photographers.
So, this is the beginning of our collaboration. We will write about the things we see in coffee shops and on city streets, the books we are reading, the road trips we take, the mountains we climb, and the deer we may find on our porch. Whenever you find us, and for however long you stay, we hope you enjoy the journey with us.
