WEEKEND IN CHARLESTON

 We decided to spend our 3rd wedding anniversary in Charleston, SC, a beautiful city by the sea which is known for its historic downtown. Built on a peninsula with limited space, the houses are tall and narrow with shared courtyards. We arrived in the city fairly early in the morning and spent several hours wandering the cobblestone streets between fantastical trees and colorful houses.

 After lunch, we drove the around old village { Mt. Pleasant, SC }  to look at the grand houses before heading to Isle of Palms { the beach}. After a ridiculously long hunt for a parking spot, we finally made it to the Atlantic, and spent the afternoon walking, reading, lounging, and burning in the sun. In the evening, we found the most delicious Thai restaurant, went book hunting, and walked around Charleston some more.
